Illustration Friday: Broken

In 1988, I fell off a fire escape and broke my femur. It looked something like this. But the doctor fixed it up with a clamp and screws. After a year he took the hardware out and now it's as good as new.

I find it amazing the way we heal bones. Although I'm sure the experience was no fun was it fascinating?

Oh, a friend of mine did something like that and never had the hardware out!!!

omg...before I became an RNFA, I used to be a surgical tech, and we did this very thing for broken bones...this is pretty close to what how it would have been reduced.

Excellent medical illustration. If you put on word verification it stops that garbage in your comments box and people still seem to be prepared to visit and comment
